Weekly Social Nights
Our social dance nights need to be seen to be believed! Boasting participation from a wide array of age groups and experience levels, we offer one of the most affordable and welcoming entertainment options in the city. We have a rotation of excellent group class instructors, a carefully curated course curriculum, and fantastic DJs.
Location & Cost
The location for both Tuesdays and Thursdays is Cabaret Arts & Social Theatre, located near 91st & Metcalf at 9050 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66212.
Group classes and social dance are all part of the $15 fee for the night. We do have other membership options available as well.
What to bring
You don't need prior dance experience to join us! Our Level 1 class is there to get you started with the dance and ready to join us for the social dance after class.
No partner necessary : We rotate partners within our group classes. And as a community, we enjoy dancing with anyone socially that is willing to!
What to wear: Whatever is comfortable for you! We advise comfortable shoes, such as athletic type shoes for most. Loose and comfortable clothing advised for ease of movement.
How our nights are structured
Tuesday Schedule
The first hour of our Tuesday night is typically a group lesson for Levels 1 and 2. However, on the 4th Tuesday of the month, we have our Mini Private Lessons day!
7-8 pm Class time
Week 1 - 3 - Leveled Classes (Levels 1 & 2)
Week 4 - Mini Private Lessons -- super-popular, so come at 6:45 pm to sign up for a 5-min slot or two with our amazing instructors, volunteering their time to serve the community!
8-9:30 pm Social Dance & Community Practice
Thursday Schedule
Our Thursday nights open up with around 30mins of warmup time for social dance or just getting your body moving. We always advise you show up prior to our classes starting at 7:30pm, because the front desk can get quite busy checking people in and we don't want anyone to miss the start of classes! Finally, we kick off social dancing around 8:30pm, and have a brief break for announcements around 9pm with some teacher demos as well!
7 pm - Check-in, warm up, and join us for open floor practice!
7:30-8:30 pm - Leveled Classes (Levels 1-3)
8:30-11 pm - Social Dance Party (announcements around 9 pm)
